Meet Dr. Iredia Olaye

Dr. Iredia M. Olaye has been an executive, scientist, and entrepreneur in the technology industry for the past 15 years, with a focus on AI, data infrastructure, and technology manufacturing for the past 10. Dr. Olaye is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Covered By Group (CBG), a future technology innovation, investment, and advisory firm, and Executive Director of Covered By Group Research Institute, a future technology research Institute exploring how digitization solves imminent societal challenges. With technical, educational, and executive experiences in the AI, data, energy, technology manufacturing, deep tech, and digital healthcare industries, she has held leadership roles in large corporations, startups, and academia.

 

Previously, Dr. Olaye served as the CEO of her own firm, which consulted with Fortune 500 companies, venture-backed technology companies, and healthcare conglomerates. Through this endeavor, she led and created the largest COVID-19 study in the United States, incorporating biometric monitoring technologies (BioMeTs) and digital tools that use machine learning to process data captured by mobile sensors and wearable activity data in 2020. Prior, Dr. Olaye was the founder and CEO of OlayIT(acquired), a digital health startup that she commercialized from her doctoral research. She started her career leading technology integration and commercialization at a large healthcare system in addition to numerous faculty, research, and advisory roles in academia. Dr. Olaye graduated with honors from Cornell University and has numerous advanced degrees and certificates, including a Doctor of Philosophy, a Master's in Business and Healthcare Administration, a Master's of Science, and a Bachelor of Science with honors.

 

Dr. Olaye regularly speaks and participates in conferences and forums as an expert in applied AI, data and healthcare, research commercialization, and the future of technology. Still an active researcher, she has over 60 high-impact peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and conference appearances. Dr. Olaye serves on several corporate and nonprofit boards and consults with multi-stage companies, labs, and universities. She also is a dedicated patron of the arts, philanthropist, and collector.
